The BEST Cheap Eats at Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is so much fun! I love seeing all of the animals and seeing Pandora all lit up and glowing at night – it’s so beautiful! This park has some amazing rides like Avatar: Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, and Dinosaur. And, we have tried some of the best and most interesting food at this park!
Disney has just announced a special dining offer with certain packages. That has got me thinking about the best cheap eats at Animal Kingdom – getting the most bang for my buck!
I have found that there are two really great ways to save money on food at Disney World:
- Split or Share Meals (if possible)
- Find Meals and Snacks That are $10.00 or less
So, I compiled a list of meals you can share and food under $10 at Animal Kingdom and I’m sharing it with you! You can also scroll down to the bottom of this post for more Disney money-saving tips!
P.S. Menu items and prices can change at any time. Please be sure to check the direct links to double-check.
#1 Meals You Can Split at Animal Kingdom at Disney World

Two people could also order the 1/2 Chicken Entree (Smoked Chicken served with Baked Beans and Coleslaw) for $13.49 AND one side order of French Fries or Onion Rings Basket for $4.49. That’s a meal for two to split for about $18.00 (plus tax). It’s such a good deal, you should split a strawberry Flamingo Cupcake for $5.99. That’s still only about $25.00 for two for lunch, including dessert.

Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe (Quick Service)
- Yak & Yeti Local Foods Café (Asia) – Yak and Yeti Quick Service is known for its generous portions. A couple could order Honey Chicken (Tempura Chicken, Carrots, Snap Peas, Honey Sauce, and White Rice) for $13.99, adding a side of Eggrolls (2 for $8.49) and a side of Chicken Fried Rice (6.99). That’s a VERY filling meal to split for $28.50 (plus tax)
- Yak & Yeti Local Foods Café (Asia) – Two could share one Entree & one Side and still be about $20.00 (plus tax). The Honey Chicken mentioned above and the Vegetable Tikka Masala (Garbanzo Beans, Zucchini, Peppers, Onions, and Tomatoes in a creamy Tikka Masala Sauce served with White Rice) are $13.99 each and the Teriyaki Chicken Salad is $12.99. Add 1 side to also share – 2 Eggrolls for $8.49, Chicken fried rice for $6.99, and Fries for $5.29. One of these entrees and 1 side is around $20.00 plus tax. The most expensive meal combination (American Kobe Cheeseburger $17.99 and 2 Egg Rolls $8.49) comes to a total of $26.50 for Two People.
- Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes– Two people could order 2 Sides of Chicken Fried Rice and 1 Side of Eggrolls (that’s one eggroll each). That’s 2 Sides of Chicken Fried Rice at $6.99 each and the eggrolls are $8.49 so about $22.50 (plus tax) for two people.

If you’re really hungry and you’re a HUGE fan of Walt’s chili, you could add a side of Chili Cheese Fries for $6.49. That will be a nice meal to share for about $21.00 plus tax. Other Ways to Save Money on Food at Disney
- Adults can order Kid’s Meals for themselves. I find that the portions are smaller but still generous. And, they usually come with a side, some fruit, and a drink. Yes, you will find a lot of sandwiches and burgers, but some of the kid’s meals are very interesting choices.
- Children can also split meals at Disney World. Kids can order and share an “adult” entree. Maybe the restaurant only serves Uncrustables and Turkey Sandwiches from the kid’s menu. The kiddos could, instead, split a chicken breast nugget meal (8 decent-sized chicken nuggets and fries) or a bowl of spaghetti with meatballs (or any other entree). Hopefully, you’re lucky and your kiddos will want to eat the same entree.
- Cups of water are FREE.
- Get the Popcorn Bucket IF you LOVE popcorn. It’s $13.00 and a popcorn refill is $2.25 for the entire length of your stay! It’s a great snack… and you can share! The bucket also counts as a souvenir that you can take home!
- You can bring your own snacks and even meals to Disney World. I’ve seen a mom whip out bread and peanut butter from underneath her stroller and start making sandwiches for her kids. While waiting in line for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, I watched a young man behind us pull out a Tupperware of pasta to eat.
- You can split an entree and add a side or two to keep costs down. Or, add bread (a few restaurants offer complimentary bread). These can make your meal more filling and make for an inexpensive breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I’ve tried to give you many examples of these in the lists above.

Looks like so much fun and lots of great yummy food there! Great memories are always priceless.
Yes, the memories make it all worth it!
The Eight Spoon Cafe has some interesting and delicious food. This is my favorite quick-service restaurant at Animal Kingdom.
Oooh yes…that’s a good one! Great flavor combos and reasonably priced.
Wow, that’s way more variety than I was expecting at Animal Kingdom! Happy New year!
Thank you!! Same to you!! Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of foods at Animal Kingdom!
We’re planning a trip to Disney this year, so this list will come in handy! I love all of the food recommendations, especially the BBQ recommendations!
Yes, you have to try Flame Tree! We loved it there!
Wow….we have so many options here! The Flame Tree combo has my heart already.
Oooh! Flame Tree has some really good BBQ! And the portions are pretty generous.
I hope we will visit animal kingdom one day. We love to eat, and it is nice to know we don’t need to spend much money on food with two kids. Btw my oldest son is very picky but I think he will be fine with ice cream!
You will find plenty of Ice Cream. Anandapur Ice Cream Truck has the smoothest ice cream in all of Disney (in my opinion!)
Soo many yummy meals. This makes me miss going to Disney World! Saving this for my next trip!
Yay! Writing this up made me want to plan another trip to Disney, too. We always have so much fun there!
Yay!
Oh my, all that food looked so good. I’m glad it’s reasonably priced.
Yes, I was thinking that I could eat some meals at Disney for less than I pay at Chik-fil-A. And, it’s really good food!
It is pretty good! I think Animal Kingdom has some of the best (and most unique) food at the Disney World Parks.
The cost of attending Animal Kingdom or any other Disney park can really add up! It’s good to know that low cost options are available, and may of them quite good for the money.
You are so right! And, I think Animal Kingdom has some of the most interesting food options in all of the Disney World Parks.
Yes! We love the nice restaurants and character meals, but we also have just as much fun when we visit Disney on a budget. And, we eat just as good!
Oh my! These pictures of all that delicious Disney food is making me hungry! The Mac n cheese looks amazing as does the pulled pork. Also, the dessert pictures are cute and yummy looking – especially the Mickey cookie. Thanks for the suggestions for my next trip to the park.
My kiddos love Disney mac and cheese in every park! And the sweets at Zuri’s are amazing! I’m so glad we checked it out.
Your post is making hungry, lol! But in a good way! It only strengthens my resolve to go to Disney world myself one day and it’s better knowing the more cheaper food options at each location. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hahaha Sorry??? Not Sorry ???
