Gluten-Free at the 2019 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
|*Disney generously gave us tickets to Walt Disney World (for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. As always, all opinions are my own.
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is celebrating its 24th year and will be held from August 29 to November 23, 2019. Your Epcot admission is all you need to participate in this festival!
I was SO HAPPY to see so many gluten-free dishes available at the Marketplace Booths. I was able to try different gluten-free dishes from all over the world!
Before heading into the World Showcase, you can stop by the Festival Welcome Center to receive details and helpful tips and information. You can get a Park Map, Times Guide, and Festival Passport. Then you can navigate your way through the World Showcase get to eatin!
The photo below shows the menu in France – showing which foods are kid-approved, gluten-free, and vegan (the Creme Brulee is all 3!). Just look for the orange trapezoid with the GF in the middle next to the menu items!
If you have any questions or concerns, you can ask the chef for any information about their food dishes and beverages. They will be happy to let you know what is gluten-free.
Australia
I’m listing Australia first because all 3 of its dishes are Gluten-Free! They offered a Shrimp dish, a lamb chop dish, and a dessert – a deconstructed Pavlova!
- Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp with Pineapple, Pepper, Onion and Snap Peas (Gluten-Free)
- Roasted Lamb Chop with Sweet Potato Purée, Bush Berry Pea Salad and Pistachio-Pomegranate Gremolata (Gluten-Free)
- Deconstructed Pavlova with Pastry Cream, Citrus-macerated Berries and Lemon Myrtle Meringue (Kid-Approved, Vegan, and Gluten-free)
India
I’ve heard mixed reviews of this dish offered in India – mostly because of the ingredient of Uncle Ben’s Rice. I’ve had reactions to this rice even if it’s labeled gluten-free, so I didn’t try it here.
- Madras Red Curry with Roasted Cauliflower, Baby Carrots, Chickpeas and Uncle Ben’s® Basmati Rice (Vegan and Gluten-Free)
Islands of the Caribbean
- Jerk-spiced Chicken with Roasted Sweet Plantain Salad and Mango Chutney Yogurt (Gluten-Free)
Hawaii
- Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts (Kid-Approved, Vegan, and Gluten-Free)
Spain
- Seafood Salad with Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Mussels, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Balsamic Vinegar and Smoked Paprika (Gluten-Free)
France
Oh France, you are so delicious! The Creme Brulee with Chocolate Hazelnut Cream was pure heaven! After breaking through the caramelized sugar topping, you find the rich custard underneath. Then you find the wonderful surprise – a thick layer of hazelnut and chocolate creaminess – YUM! It’s so wonderful that this dessert is gluten-free!
- Crème Brûlèe: Crème Brûlèe with House-made Chocolate Hazelnut Cream (Kid-Approved and Gluten-Free)
Active Eats
** NOTE: Although listed as Gluten-Free, please use caution with the Salmon Dish. Uncle Ben’s Quinoa & Ancient Grains Medley contains Farro (which is derived from wheat) that may affect those with celiac or gluten allergy.

- Spice-crusted Verlasso® Salmon with UNCLE BEN’S® Quinoa & Ancient Grains Medley, Crushed Avocado and Sherry Vinegar (Gluten-Free)

Brazil
- Crispy Pork Belly with Black Beans, Tomato and Onions (Gluten-Free)
- Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread (Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Kid-Approved)
Canada
I have to admit that Canada was my FAVORITE! Their “Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon was wonderful…and that Truffle Butter Sauce was out-of-this-world delicious! I was so happy that this dish was gluten-free!
We had such a great time during this event! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the gluten-free dishes that I tried there. It is so nice that those with food allergies can also enjoy this event!

Seems like Epcot Festival is paradise for food lovers as you get to sample the best food from different countries at one place. I am so tempted to even reading the food details. A must go Festival for me sure.
I love food festivals and therefore visiting Epcot food and wine festival must be great visit for me. I am a great foodie but vegetarian so I would select veggie options listed here. India would definitely top my list. Then I will select Hawaiian dessert – Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts. It is good that there are many gluten free and vegan options here.
That is so great that you did not have to limit yourself with trying all the foods of the world, being gluten free. Many cultures have foods that are traditionally gluten free without performing culinary gymnastics and you seemed to be able to taste quite a variety of them. That Brazilian cheese bread is one of my favorite things ever – eventhough I am not gluten free!
I love attending food festivals and this is just awesome. Loved how the booths/ stalls are designed to showcase the country/ culture/ background.
So far, I love Hawaii’s booth design but in terms of food — I am badly craving for a creme brulee. That looks really, really delicious.
Thank you for sharing about the Epcot International Food Fair.
Thanks for the insights. I was thinking about taking our niece there next year….and since we are vegan, it’s good to know that they are so transparent with their signage. I also love how many different types of food you can try in a single day.
Oh, yes, there are many vegan dishes at the festival. And, they are easy to find – the vegan options are labeled on all of the menus and signs.
Having diet restrictions and attending a food tour or food festival is always challenging. I’m a vegetarian and I’ve never attended a food tour so far because I end up going hungry! Haha.
I’m super happy to know that you found a lot of option is your search for Gluten Free food in the festival. I need to eat the creme brulee, like right now!
I really wish you could try good Indian food elsewhere! Several of our dishes are naturally Gluten Free and Vegetarian as well!
I was really impressed with the variety of food at Epcot and the Food & Wine Festival. They are very accommodating for those on special diets and with dietary restrictions.
