Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
|Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
We really enjoyed our stay at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort!
We were planning a last-minute trip to Disney World. Not only was it last minute, but I had a budget to work with as well. I wish I had tons of money to spend at Disney, but I don’t -my kids need braces, ya’ll. Anyway, all of the online reviews were mixed for All-Star Sports but it was available for our travel dates and it was inexpensive.
The All-Star resorts are considered “Value” resorts at Disney, and their prices are among the least expensive offered at Disney resorts. You get to enjoy all of the perks that come with staying on-property (Magic Bands, Magic Hours, Shuttle Service, Free WiFi, etc).
Keep in mind that this resort is popular with school-age athletic groups that travel to Walt Disney World for events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. That means that this hotel can be a little bit noisy at times. There were a lot of cheerleaders at our hotel because of a cheerleading competition, but we had no issues.
The resort is casual, colorful, and fun. My son’s favorite show is Duck Tales and he loved that Donald, Huey, Dewy, and Louie were right outside our hotel room.
Honestly, my kids were just excited to get to go to Disney World and they didn’t care what hotel we stayed at. But, they still talk about the pool, the arcade, the friends they made during trivia, making and eating s’ mores, and the yummy pizza. And, I was just happy that I found an affordable Disney resort for us to stay at.
So here is more info on our stay at All-Stars Sports Resort in February 2019:
Hotel Theme
As you can already tell, All-Stars Sports is sports-themed, featuring baseball, basketball, football, surfing, and tennis. The oversized footballs, tennis rackets, surfboards, basketball whistles, and baseball bats are very cool.
And, of course, Disney characters participate in the sports activities at the resort. Goofy squirts water on you at the pool and Donald and his nephews are ready to play baseball and tennis with you.
Check-In
We arrived early to All-Star Sports since we wanted to visit a park and needed our Magic Bands (this was a very last-minute trip, usually Magic Bands are mailed to you).
Check-in was a breeze! The nice lady/cast member who checked us in was very helpful and accommodating. She knew it was our first trip and answered all of our questions.
We were given our Magic Bands (which are also your room key and how you pay for things if you want), and our other perks (see below).
Perks of Staying at All-Star Sports Resort:
- Free transportation to and from the Orlando airport
- Complimentary merchandise delivery from the parks
- Shuttle system that runs to/from the parks and throughout the whole Walt Disney World Resort.
- Free Magic Band per person (with 3 Fastpass+)
- Access to Extra Magic Hours when you bundle your All-Star Sports Resort stay with Disney World tickets.
- Free Wifi
- Free Rounds of Mini Golf and visits to ESPN Wide World of Sports
See all of the amenities at All-Star Sports HERE.
Parking is about $13 per day at All-Star Sports Resort. Once we were parked and situated at the resort, we used the buses, boats, and monorail. It was nice to park the car and not have to drive anywhere again (I have a tendency to get lost).
The Rooms
The rooms at All-Star Sports are located in 10 three-story buildings. There are five different areas and each area has its own theme: Touchdown, Center Court, Home Run Hotel, Hoops Hotel, and Up. Each building has stairs (on the ends and middle of the hotel) and elevators (ours was in the middle of the hotel).
The rooms are very simple with two double beds (King beds are available), a small table with chairs, and a bathroom with a single sink. There is a tv, chest of drawers, iron, and ironing board.
The beds were a little on the small side, but it worked out for us. We honestly spent very little time in our room. We showered, changed clothes, and slept in our room. Even on our day off from the parks, we were at the pool or playing mini-golf.
We stayed in a Standard room, at the back of the resort in the Tennis section. It was a little bit of a walk from our room to the main building (just about a 5-minute walk). The All-Star Sports Resort does offer preferred rooms. They are closer to the lobby, food court, buses, and pool, but they do cost more.
Our room had a small refrigerator. It could hold 1/2 gallon jugs of milk and orange juice (a small OJ at the food court is $5), yogurt, sandwich meat, cheese, and fruit. I brought Ziploc Bags and we used those to save leftover pizza. There are lots of grocery stores in Orlando if you decide to do some grocery shopping before heading to your resort.
The rooms do not have a microwave, but there is one available at the End Zone Food Court.
End Zone Food Court
The End Zone Food Court is a quick-service restaurant located between the lobby and the pool. At breakfast, we loved the eggs, bacon, potatoes, and Mickey Waffles.
At lunch and dinner, the kids enjoyed pizza and breadsticks. They had chicken and salmon with veggies which I really enjoyed. The chef came out since I have a gluten allergy and he made my plate separately in the kitchen.
This restaurant also offers hot dogs, nachos, pasta, salmon, smoothies, cupcakes, and gelato. There are also gluten-free desserts and fruit available. I like that there is so much variety at the food court and that the chefs are so accommodating to people with food allergies.
The food court has a microwave and a toaster that guests can use. My daughter is a very picky eater, so we brought her some Chicken Noodle Soup and Annie’s Mac N Cheese cups. She was able to heat up her favorite foods in the food court.
There are televisions stationed in the food court area so kiddos can watch Mickey and Minnie videos while they eat.
You can also have food delivered to your room. All of the food delivery options are given to you in your hotel room.
The Pools
We really enjoyed spending time at the Surfboard Bay Pool at All-Star Sports. There isn’t a slide, but the pool is full of balls for the kids to play with. On certain nights, the resort shows a Disney movie on a huge screen at the pool.
There were lifeguards on duty at Surfboard Bay Pool. The resort also provides pool towels in the pool area, so you don’t have to worry about packing beach towels or bringing towels from your hotel room.
There is also another pool on the other side of the football field. It is called the Grand Slam Pool and it is shaped like a baseball diamond. This pool is smaller but Goofy will squirt water at you.
Trivia at the Pool
The resort has trivia every night and each night has its own theme. This usually takes place at about 5:30 at the Surfboard Bay Pool Deck.
My kiddos were swimming at the pool, and my daughter decided to join in on the Trivia. She and two other young ladies participated and they had a great time.
All three girls were given a souvenir necklace and a $20 gift card for the arcade. After swimming until dark, we made some s’ mores, and then the kids had a blast at the arcade!
So, if your kid wants to participate in the trivia, they could get a $20 gift card for the arcade. If it is raining and the pool is closed, the hotel offers coloring pages in the lobby. And, the hotel has been known to give kiddos at the coloring table gift cards ($10) to the arcade. I think this is a very nice way for the resort to keep their guests/kids happy even when it’s raining.
Ping-Pong
Right next to the pool is the Ping-Pong table. As you can tell, we take this game very seriously (not really).
The Game Point Arcade
My kids loved spending time at the arcade. They had just about every game you could imagine. We were here quite a bit on our “day off” from the parks. I enjoyed playing basketball, skeeball, and table hockey with my kiddos.
S’mores At Night
In the evening, the resort set up a s’mores station. All of the marshmallows were free and unlimited, but a kit was $5. The kit included enough graham crackers and Hershey chocolate for 3 s’ mores.
Playground
The resort also has a playground where kids can play and get all of their wiggles out. The playground is located near the Touchdown! hotel area.
Sport Goofy
Sport Goofy has lots of souvenirs, snacks, and toiletries. If you forgot something or need some medication for a headache, you’ll find what you need here at Sport Goofy.
The Laundry Room
The Bath House has changing rooms for boys and girls. In the middle is the laundry room. When we were there (February 2019), it was $3 to wash and $3 to dry a load of clothes.
Overall…
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at All-Star Sports Resort. The kids had so much fun! It was our first time staying on Disney property so we really didn’t have anything to compare it to. We did take an art class at the Art of Animation Resort so now my kids want to stay there next time.

This is the most informative review I have read on All Star Sports. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Thank you – I appreciate your kind comments!
Great review! We are planning to visit Disney World next year so I will definitely consider this hotel. We have only been to Disneyland and have never stayed at a Disney hotel, and I always regret it! I think my son would love this.
I have to admit that I like staying on property, Emmy. We just jumped on a bus or boat and went to the parks – no driving, parking, traffic, looking for my car at 10 p.m., etc. It was nice.
I haven’t been to All-Dtar sports since I was a kid! That’s where we would stay when we went for cheerleading competitions!
Yes! There was a cheerleading competition going on while we were there! A lot of them were leaving the day we arrived, but we saw several cheerleading groups at our resort and at the parks.
This looks like a great resort for sports loving kids! This is pretty cool.
Yes, it’s perfect for sports fans, Jasmine. The huge football field was really cool.
Looks like a great place to stay for vacation. Have to keep this in mind so we can stay here on our next Disney Trip.
We really enjoyed our stay here, Anna.
This looks like a fun resort to go and bond with the family! I know my kids would love this place!
I think they would love it, Eloise. My kids had a blast.
We stayed next door at the Art of Animation when we went, we loved all the theming
Oh, yes, Art of Animation is really cool – very Disney-themed. We took an art class there and my kids want to stay there next time.
Nice reading about your experience in the resort. You and your family surely had lots of fun. I would love to visit there.
Thanks, Kalyan! We really had a great time!
What a fun place to go to! My whole family would enjoy this kind of adventure. We are planning to visit Disney soon.
You guys will have a great time! It was our first time staying on property and we loved it.
I’m sure the kids and my whole family will like this resort. We are planning a trip to Disney and would love to stay here.
Yes, Alexandra! This resort is very kid-friendly and family-friendly.
Looks like you had a great time! Such a fun place for the whole family to enjoy. I’d love to get the family together and plan another trip!
We had a blast, Catherine! I would like to plan another trip to Disney with extended family (mostly so my kids will can ride the spinning rides with their cousins and I don’t have to – is that wrong?)
What a fun resort! I love that its theme is apparent everywhere you look!
Yes, my kiddos loved the football field, basketball court, and tennis court. It was really larger than life, especially for them.
That looks like a fun resort! I have never stayed at a Disney resort before, but I would love to! I love how they keep everything to theme. Oh and those waffles look delish too. 🙂
Oh, yes Hailey! I don’t know how it works, but everything tastes better when it’s Mickey shaped.
We stayed at a Disney hotel in Paris quite a while ago and it was super fun! Yours looks way more animated and themed though. Those magic bands are a really good idea. I haven’t heard of them before. You can choose not to pay with them, right? Just thinking of the kids.
Ooooh, Disney in Paris sounds amazing! The Magid Bands – You can just link your credit card to your own personal magic band and don’t link the kids to the bands. Whoever uses the bands has to know the PIN number linked to the account. I let my kids use the magic bands to buy things and told them the PIN. It came in handy a few times when they wanted to get themselves some popcorn or a Mickey Ice Cream.
We have a Disney World trip coming up and I have been wanting to stay here! It looks so fun; loved looking at all your photos!
Thanks, Sara! We enjoyed our stay very much. It is perfect if you are wanting to stay at Disney on a budget.
What a fun theme for a Disney hotel! We don’t make it out to Florida too often, but when we go to Disney World, I will have to check this place out; kids would love it!
Yes, Beth! It is a great place for kids (well, most hotels at Disney resort are great for kids and families to be honest). This one is very budget-friendly if you want to stay on property.
I love any trip that involves Disney! Very nice review, I enjoyed reading about your stay at this Disney resort.
Thanks, Lyosha!
It looks like you had a fantastic time. I would love to take my kids there.
Your kiddos will love it, Jenny.
I love anything about Disney and been to few Disneyland in Asia, one in Japan and one in Hong Kong. Love the experience. Your disney all star resort looks amazing and I can tell the kids love the experience. Love the disney waffles.
Wow! I would love to visit those Disneyland’s! And, yes, the Mickey Waffles are pretty awesome.

It was an amazing trip, Jenny! I hope this review helps with your planning!
That looks like an awesome place for any young sports lover. It looks like an awesome place for any sports lover in general, actually.
Yes, Ben, you’re so right. This resort is actually very popular with middle school and high school kids who are visiting the ESPN Wide World of Sports for sports competitions.
