7 Things To Do In Daytona Beach, Florida with Kids USA
Daytona Beach is located in Florida, about 50 miles Northeast of Orlando. Daytona is known for NASCAR and beautiful beaches. We were able to visit Daytona Beach recently and we found that there were several family-friendly activities there.
Racing
If you and your family are big racing fans, then you know that the Daytona is considered the most important race in NASCAR. This race is held every February. You can also tour the speedway. More info HERE.

The Beach

Daytona has 23 miles of beach. The unique thing is that you can drive down and park on the beach. I was a little nervous when I first heard this. My kids aren’t used to this and they run around like lunatics when we are at the beach. There are specified traffic zones and speed limits in place. I just had to keep extra close watch on the kiddos. Parking is about $10.
Daytona Lagoon Waterpark

Daytona Lagoon is a waterpark and family entertainment center located in Daytona Beach. The waterpark area is open March-September and the entertainment center is open all year long. The kids will love the water slides, mini golf, and the arcade.

The Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is located right on the beach in Daytona. You can take the whole family to the Joyland Amusement Center and the Mardi Gras Fun Center. Zeno’s SWEET Shop is also located at the boardwalk and is a great place to grab some taffy or other sweet snacks.

Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida. Kids will love seeing the lighthouse and the museum. You can also climb to the top if you think the kiddos can handle it. The climb to the top is 203 steps.

The Charles & Linda Williams Children’s Museum
This children’s museum is located inside the Museum of Arts and Sciences. My kiddos played here for hours. They loved running their own pizza parlor, pretending to be radiologists, and building their own race cars. There were several interactive and educational exhibits here.
Before our visit to the children’s museum, we were able to watch a very interesting planetarium show before . The museum offers a planetarium show for very young children as well.

Reading your list, making me wanna visit Florida. I am from India and if I ever visit Florida, I will surely visit the beach. ❤️
I’ve never been, but this is very good to know. I hope to move to Florida within the next 4 years, and want to be sure I know where the family friendly spots are!!

They are amazing! And that park… Oh, is there a child who doesn’t enjoy water? 🙂
Yes, the water park is a big hit!
Wow! So much to see and do in Daytona! It would be difficult to choose what to do first. I know for sure that my kids would love all the different activities. Hours of fun and excitement to be had!
This was our first trip to Daytona Beach and we were really surprised at how much there was to do.
Definitely a lot to do with kids nowadays. A lot of fun designed especially for them! i don’t have any kids yet, but your guide-through is great and i’m sure it will be very useful to parents! and Daytona beach is a great, peaceful place!
It was very peaceful while we were there. I can only imagine that it gets much more exciting during the summer and race season.
I would love to go here for the summer! It’s always nice to take the kids to the beach and just have loads of fun. The waterpark, the boardwalk, and the museum definitely makes this an even better destination!
Yes, I bet the summer’s here are wonderful.
That boardwalk looks so fun! I’d love to ride that ferris wheel. I bet the views are great from it!
The views were fantastic! And the sunsets were gorgeous!
I haven’t been to this part of Florida but visit Florida. This is a nice list. It has a little for everyone. The raceway would be fun for my son and he wouldn’t mind the children’s museum of course. This momma would like to check out the lighthouse and boardwalk.
We loved the Boardwalk area. There were some cute shops and a splash pad in addition to the games and little amusement park. The lighthouse is nice, but it’s a big climb -lots of steps! It’s definitely a workout.
I love that Racing is number one on your list – as the couple of times my family and I have been to Florida, it’s always been to see either the Daytona 500 or to go to Miami speedway. We’re British, and not many people over here are fans of Nascar, so we were the only ones there cheering on our drivers last time we went haha! x
I would have loved to have seen that!
I’d love to visit Daytona Beach someday. Pinned
Thank you, Veronica! I appreciate all of your support! I hope you get to visit Daytona one day.

That looks like a lot of fun. Where I live they have a children’s museum like the one there where you can do different arts and crafts. Its a lot of fun and you can learn a little new things.
Yes! We love a good science museum!
I would definitely go there alone just for the races but wow, there seems to be a lot more ways to enjoy the place. The beach is where I will be headed next time!
I would love to go back to the beach in Daytona when it is warmer! We were there in February and it was pretty cool .
Florida is in my travel list. Thank you for sharing this.

That Ponce de Leon museum looks great! The beaches look so relaxing and inviting. I think I might need to make a beach vacation soon – and Daytona is now on my list! Thank you for the informative post!
Daytona Beaches are pretty cool – and the lighthouse too!
Hopefully we will be able to go back to daytona soon, we have 4 kids now so they will love the children’s museum.
They will love it, Kansas! We were there for hours!
The beach sounds ideal! i love places where you can do a lot more than to just entertain you on the beach. Also the place look lovely!
I agree, Lyosha! I like having a back up plan in case there’s a rainy day and we can’t go to the beach.
Daytona looks like the perfect place for a family holiday. The waterpark and the boardwalk look amazing.
It is really a cool city and the beaches are really nice, Elizabeth!

I haven’t ever been to Daytona beach. I didn’t know there was so much to do.
Yes!! I hope you get to go! There is so much to do for adults and kids!
I love the look of the boardwalk! Makes me think of a really traditional seaside town with things like helter skelters and candy floss! The water park sounds really awesome, too 🙂
The boardwalk is really cool, Nicola
My grandchildren would have so much fun, who am I kidding my children, their spouses and even I would have a good time there. Twenty three miles of beach whoo Hoo. They would also love the Lagoon Waterpark, the board walk I think I entire family would enjoy. My daughter would demand The Children’s Museum visit saying “Without education first there is no fun.” Which is a good thing I guess. The guys would like the races and I would enjoy the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse and Museum. Keep these posts up 🙂
Thank you, Gladys! There is definitely lots to do with the family in Daytona.
My grandparents took me and my sister to Daytona Beach when we were little… and we didn’t do any of this stuff! What a great list! Especially the water park and pizza place.
This was our first visit and it seem like a lot of this was new. Of course the racing, the beach, and the boardwalk have been around forever.
