11 Reasons You’ll Love Your Stay At The LEGOLAND Beach Retreat
|
I cannot say enough good things about the LEGOland Beach Retreat! Our family had a fantastic time during our stay here. We’ve barely been home for a week, and my kiddos are already begging to go back. It is definitely a family-friendly and kid-friendly place to stay.
Here are 11 Reasons You’ll love staying at the LEGOland Beach Retreat:
Family-Friendly Accomodations
Photo Above: A super comfy king size bed! It was so nice to relax here after a long day at the LEGOland Resort Park.
The rooms are LEGO themed – from the decorated walls to the shower curtain – and we loved it!
Above: We were in the Hula Dancer’s Cove. The kids LOVED that they got to sleep in bunk beds which are also a trundle bed. So, the bungalow easily sleeps 5.
The kids’ room had a green box of LEGO’s for the kiddos to play with during our visit.
Above Photo: The bunk beds each had a note for the kiddos from the Ocean King and the Fisherman promising that they had caught all of the sea monsters and the room was monster free. The beds also had a LEGO Mixels for them to play with/put together. My kiddos saved theirs and had a nice little souvenir when they got home from the trip.
In addition to hooks/hangers on the wall, there is a clothes line in the shower to dry bathing suits.
Each room has a Keurig Coffee Maker with cups and an assortment of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. We also received 2 Honest Apple Juice pouches and 2 Bottled waters each day.
The rooms also have a mini fridge. We drink a lot of bottled water so it was so nice to have the fridge to keep them cold for us.
The Beach Retreat offers a wagon to wheel your luggage to your room.
**LEGOland Beach Retreat offers FREE WiFi all throughout the resort – in the bungalows as well as The Lighthouse.**

Instead of hotel rooms, there are little coves of bungalows that seem to be made of large LEGO’s.
Each cove of bungalows has a small playground for the kiddos. We could sit on our porch and relax while the kiddos played.
Our bungalow – We were in the Hula Dancer’s Cove and had an orange and blue colored bungalow.
There is a small table and 4 chairs on the porch which offers up some extra space. We could have our coffee out here in the mornings and we ate pizza out here one night. The kiddos could play with the LEGO’s they received here on the table too.
Drive-Thru Check-In
We had been on a 10 hour road trip. My kids were barefoot, had car hair, and their faces were plastered with Cheetos’ dust. It was so nice to just pull up and receive our check-in information. I didn’t have to unload the kids and worry about them climbing the walls of a hotel lobby like rabid howler monkeys. Checking in was easier than ordering a cheeseburger at a fast food restaurant drive-thru.
Above: My kiddos were so happy so see this sign above! We made it!
Friendly & Accommodating Staff
Our experience with the staff was amazing. From our waitress at Sandy’s Castle Restaurant to the Shuttle Bus Driver, they were all very nice and accommodating.
Everyone seemed very patient and understanding. That was important because there are kids everywhere!
Kids Eat Free at Dinner at Sandy’s Castle Restaurant
Lots of seating at Sandy’s Castle Restaurant.
Bring your room key (and the little card holder it comes with) to the restaurant and you get a free kid’s meal with each Adult Entree order (appetizers are excluded.)
**Apparently the Kids Eat FREE is a new thing in 2018 at the Beach Retreat. I have called the hotel directly and the Kid’s Eat FREE program has been very popular and they plan to continue it throughout 2018. The hotel could change this at any time, so you might want to call ahead and make sure this deal is still on.
Huge Connect 4-type Game in Sandy’s Castle Restaurant.
My kiddos inhaled their kid’s meals after a long day of playing!
My mom ordered the Garden Pesto Pasta. It was served with flatbread and she said it was fantastic!
I needed something gluten-free (severe allergy), so I ordered the Seafarer’s Grilled Chicken Breast with broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was very good!
They also offer gluten free pizzas if anyone in your family has issues with gluten. The people at the table next to us ordered pizza and it looked amazing!

Brick’s Beach Bar is also located here in the restaurant. They serve made-to-order food, drinks, and specialty cocktails. There are tables and chairs inside and outside the bar (by the pool).
My kiddos LOVED the sandcastle play area full of LEGO’s. They could have stayed here forever. It was a nice way to keep them busy while we waited for our dinner. After we ate dinner, we hung out and played at the LEGO sandcastle while we waited for the Ninja Training Session to begin.
There is a gift shop at the entrance of Sandy’s Castle Restaurant called Palm Tree Traders. We bought our LEGOland t-shirts here to wear at the Parks the next day. We also found some really cute souvenirs here.
Swimming Pool
We spent quite a bit of time at the Beach Retreat Pool.
Everything is so colorful here!
There are big LEGO’s floating in the pool for the kids to play with and/or make their own raft.
The pool is heated which is perfect for evening swimming and/or when you are visiting in the cooler months. The dance parties and games are mostly held here at the pool area. It was drizzling rain during our visit, so the games and dances were held at Sandy’s Castle Restaurant.
Playground and Sandy Play Area
The playground and sand play area are in the same fenced-in area as the pool. We could sit and relax in our “beach chair” and the kids could run around at the playground, the sandy area, or swim in the pool. It was easy to keep an eye on them even if they wanted to do different things.
Generous Buffet Breakfast Included in Stay
The buffet was very generous and so good. There were bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, potatoes, fruit, vegetables, and oatmeal. There is also coffee, juice, milk, chocolate milk, and a Coke machine for drinks.
Photo Above: Heading in to Sandy’s Castle Breakfast Buffet before our big day at the Park!
Character Visits During Dinner
Above: We were able to meet Max the Lifeguard.
Nightly Games & Dance Parties
The kiddos loved doing the Limbo!
How LOW can you go?
I think this was a little crazy free-styling…
Jump! Jump! At the dance party! They even did the chicken dance!
We arrived on a Sunday, which was a special LEGO Ninjago Day at the Parks and Hotels. The kids participated in a Ninja Training Session and received a Spinjitzu toy (all the kids did). They were so excited! This was their second souvenir/toy and we had only been there a few hours! It was a very generous gift from the Beach Retreat!
These parties are usually held at the pool area, but are moved inside to Sandy’s Castle if the weather isn’t cooperating.
Free Shuttle to LEGOLAND
The beach retreat offers complimentary shuttle to and from LEGOland, which is only about 1/2 mile away. You don’t have to worry about keeping up with your keys or finding your car in the parking lot. The shuttle will pick you up and drop you off.
This shuttle bus is available to and from the Theme Park entrance from 8:45 a.m. to one hour after the park closes.
LEGO’s – LEGO’s Everywhere!
Photo Above: We loved seeing all of the LEGO animals!
I have to admit, we felt completely spoiled during our stay here. Kids can be kids here. They can play and have fun and they are constantly entertained.
We made a lot of great memories during our stay here and I have been informed by the kiddos that we have to go back!

This is awesome! And I love visiting and looking at cars too haha. I’m sure kids would have fun going to this.
Oh yeah, this is heaven for car/Corvette enthusiasts. And, little kids love the Kid Zone and older kids like the interactive games and driving the Corvette.
Your article made me even more excited- we are going in the fall! How old were your kids when you went?
I try to plan family trips once a year. Hopefully this will be my next one. Thanks for the information!
Hi again, Kristy…LL has removed the Keurigs from all Beach Retreat rooms as of April 15 – our 1st night there for “cost effectiveness”. As well, for clarification, daily housekeeping must be requested for multiple night stays and early park admission for ALL guests has been discontinued. There is also a fire station down the road which woke us up various times throughout the 2 nights. We stayed in Hula Dancer as well. We weren’t able to use the pool in the evenings as one night it rained and the next, “code brown”. 🙁 Could happen anywhere I guess but it all dampened our experience. The Retreat was pretty in the sunshine after passing through a shoddy looking section of town, but in the rain, it was quite claustrophobic inside the small cottages – they are smaller than the LL Hotel rooms – & 1040 showed a lot of wear for being only a year old.
We’d only stay in the Hotel if we returned again. Unfortunately, with boys being 8 and 11, I think we’ve hit the upper threshold for the Park. They enjoyed the water park and the bigger LL rides, but the popular age of guests while we were there, seemed to be 6 and below, definitely not the 6-10 or 12 that it used to be. I am so sad since we loved Legoland and Lego.
Thank you so much for all of the updates, Krista. I hate to hear that you were disappointed in your stay, but I appreciate you letting us know. We loved our stay (and I didn’t get a free stay for writing this post – we paid full price), but I think we will also stay at the hotel next time.
This looks an amazing place to stay, it’s somewhere my grandchildren would love
Oh yeah! You’re grandkids would love it! Thanks, Mandy!
This looks amazing for kids of all ages. If a place like this would have been around when we were kids I think it would have been the dream vacation. My brothers were lego nuts…and I wasn’t that against it either. We had a lot of fun with lego.
I know – this place wasn’t around when I was a kid either, so now I just take my kiddos even though I probably have more fun than they do!
Woow this looks amazing, still havent decided where we want to go for the summer, but my boys love all things LEGO x
This would be perfect for you guys, Noura!
What a great vacation spot this would be for our family! I love the bungalow coves instead of a motel room. There are so many amenities to this Lego Land resort! Thank you for sharing about your adventures here and giving us an idea for our next vacation!
We loved the bungalows too, Joni! They had a very home-y feel.
This looks like so much fun! I’d love to take my Family.
I hope you get to go, Misty!
Would love to take my nephew once he gets a little older here! I feel like he will really love it!
Your nephew would be in LEGO heaven, Kelly!
This would be AMAZING to take my grandsons to. They would LOVE it and I am sure I would too.
You’re grandsons would love it, Carla!
Can you believe that I’ve never been to Legoland before? Living in California, the drive isn’t so far away but I just never had the chance to go. This Legoland Beach Retreat looks unreal! My nieces and nephews would love this heavenly place (they love legos). Would love to visit here some day — hopefully soon.
What?!? You gotta go! The one in Florida is closer to us, but we would love to visit the one in California one day. I hope you get to go one day, Savannah!
Never even heard of this resort until reading this! So neat! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Elizabeth!
This place looks amazing! I seriously just want to book a vacay there with my niece and nephew right now! They are both Lego fanatics and would LOVE this!
If they love LEGO’s, then they will be in heaven!
What?! A lego resort…. how come I never heard of this before? It’s spectacular!
I’ve heard of theme parks but this is over-the-top! Love how they thought of everything from the Legos on the pillows to the themed rooms to the colors and even the wagon. Looking into booking this now… Thanks!
You’ll have a great time, Evelyn!
For one, how did I not know that this existed? It looks amazing for a family friendly vacation. Lego lovers would be in heaven.
They certainly know how to cater to children and families, Rachel. We felt so spoiled here! And, for the kiddos, it was LEGO heaven!
This makes me miss my boys being children. They are adults now, but they loved legos as kids. They would have loved this. The food looks pretty good – did they have vegetarian options?
Yes, Alicia! Sandy’s Castle Restaurant had salads, a fruit salad, a vegetable quesadilla, and a black bean burger. You could probably customize some menu items like the nachos or order a veggie pizza. You also could order a plate of “sides” – veggies.
Oh my kids would LOVE this– I am going to have to put this on a family visit list for us!
I hope you get to go with your family, Via Bella! I’m so glad we chose LEGOLAND for our family trip. We enjoyed it so much!
This has to be one of the coolest retreats that I have ever seen and I am absolutely loving the legoland theme. We have a Legoland here in the UK which I have never been to a beach retreat version sounds like much more fun to me!
I’ve heard of the LEGOLAND in the UK. This Beach Retreat in Florida is about 1/2 mile from the amusement park. I think it opened April 2017.
Oh wow this looks like an incredible place to stay for a fun-filled family holiday! Kids and adults alike love Lego I think anyone would enjoy this 🙂
Yes! If your kids love LEGO’s – they will Lose.Their. Minds. My girls aren’t as crazy about LEGO’s right now. (they’re more into dolls and slime) but they played with LEGO’s for hours here and they had so much fun!
I am not sure if we have a LL Retreat here in Europe. Looks like a fun place to enjoy summer.
I think there are a few LEGOLAND Amusement Parks in Europe, Doreen. I’m just not sure if they have Beach Retreats at those.

I did read about a LEGOLAND Discovery Center coming to Birmingham, UK. The Discovery Centers are smaller versions of the LEGOLAND Resorts. They are indoors and usually have a few rides and tons of LEGO play areas.

Looks like a great place to visit. I’ll definitely go here one day with my family.
Will be saving this! Next trip to Legoland Beach Retreat.
You’re family will love it, Drake! We had a blast!
This place looks like a lot of fun
This place looks like a lot of fun! I had no idea it event existed. Seems like a great place for families 😀
Kelley, I think it’s only been open since April 2017, so it’s new. There is also a LEGOLAND Hotel right next to the Amusement Park.
It was Kelley!
I didn’t even know this existed! What a fabulous looking spot, I really must look further into it.
I’ve always been a big fan of Lego, but I had no idea they had retreats like this! Even with no kids, me and my boyfriend would LOVE to stay there! Definitely going to add it to our travel bucket list!
We all had a great time, even us adults!
I had no idea this place existed. Looks like you had a great time with the fam! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I didn’t know this place existed either, until my kids showed it to me on YouTube. There is also a LEGOLAND Hotel that is lots of fun. It’s right next to the amusement park.
I really enjoyed this virtual tour. I would stay there in a heart beat! I am loving those cute bungalows! Pinned!
It was really nice, Veronica! And the kids were in LEGO heaven.
Awesome! ☺ Thanks for calling for me. We look forward to visiting. Loved the last 3 visits. Everyone was so nice. We have annual passes for this trip and have 3 nights booked. Kids are finally tall enough for the water slides!
No problem! I also wanted to make sure I was sharing accurate information! I hope you guys have a great trip!
Kristy…question for clarification as I haven’t read some of your info elsewhere. We’ve stayed before at LL Hotel and received the Mixels in the safe scavenger hunt. So, I know you’re just telling what you received but do you know if: 1. They always leave Mixels on the bed in the bungalows or was it part of the special Ninjago weekend? & 2. The kids eat free at the restaurant with an adult purchase all the time?? 3. Did you look around to see if any Coves are better than others in way of location to parking and/or pool area? Curious. We go in April. CANNOT WAIT for our 4th trip to Legoland from cold, snowy Canada.
Hello Krista!
Okay…we literally just got home from this trip and I wrote this based on our experience for February 2018… So, to make sure, I called the Legoland Beach Retreat Directly and here’s what I found out.
1. YES. They always leave Mixels for the kids on the bunk beds on the day you arrive (The SpinJitzu was a special thing for LEGO NINJAGO Weekends)
2. YES. For 2018, they are offering Kid’s Meals FREE with paying adult entrees. This could change, but I was told that this is very popular and will probably continue throughout 2018.
3.There are some coves closer to the pool/bar/Sandy’s Castle Restaurant. There are also some coves closer to/facing the lake. We stayed in our assigned bungalow, but you might could call or email them and ask for your desired location.
Here is a link to the map (we were in Hula Dancer’s Cove and still felt close to everything):
