Jedi Training Academy at Hollywood Studios<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple at Hollywood Studios is the ultimate experience for a Star Wars fan! Who wouldn’t want to learn how to be a Jedi?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My kiddos were so excited to participate in the Jedi Training show and “fight” the Dark Side. It ended up being one of their favorite things about our trip to Disney World!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have to say this was a fantastic experience for the kids! Participating is free\/included in park admission. There is even a cast Member that takes pictures for you that go directly to your Memory Maker (more info below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*This information is based on our experiences during our visits to Hollywood Studios in February 2019 and November 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signing Up for Jedi Training- Trials of the Temple<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The sign-up spot for Jedi Training is at the Adventure Outpost (a hut between 50’s Prime Time Cafe and the Indiana Jones Stunt Show at Echo Lake). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to sign up early for your kiddos to be able to participate. Some parents arrive at 8 a.m. to get through security early so that they can sign their child up for this experience. There are shows about every 40 minutes, but the slots fill up quickly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no FastPass+ for this activity and it cannot be reserved in advance. You must register your child for this event on the day of your visit to Hollywood Studios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity is for children ages 4-12 and your child must be present when you sign up. The cast member will ask your<\/g> child if they can follow directions and if they are prepared to fight the Dark Side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The earliest spot available for us was at 4:20 and we were told to return to the Adventure Post at 3:50 to get Jedi robes and instructions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If all the slots are filled, you can ask a Cast Member if you can check back to see if there are any no shows. Your child may be able to fill in if someone doesn’t show up for their showtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will receive a paper ticket print out when you sign up at Adventure Outpost. You must bring this ticket with you when you return for showtime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking To The Temple for Jedi Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One parent must stay with their child at all times. The kids line up and at least one parent must walk with them. Parents were told we could hold our kid’s Solo Hans :<\/g> ) We then walked from Adventure Outpost to the Jedi training temple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you parade through Hollywood Studios, the leader shouts, “We are the Jedi!” and the kiddos then shout, “Here we come!”. They do this all the way to the training temple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

People really seemed to enjoy watching these little kids parading through Hollywood Studios in their Jedi robes. The whole experience is like its own little show<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jedi Training Temple is located right next to Star War: Star Tour 3-D Ride. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kiddos find their spot (on the blue dot) and they are given their lightsabers. Next, they learn basic lightsaber tactics. They swing to the right, swing to the left, duck, and swing the lightsaber down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dueling Kylo Ren and Darth Vader<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Darth Vader and Kylo Ren make a very dramatic entrance as they step out of the temple doors onto the raised stage! I have to say, it was a little scary watching them walk out. These kids are super brave!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Kid Fights the Dark Side<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each child gets<\/g> their turn to duel either Kylo Ren or Darth Vader. My daughter fought Kylo Ren and she did a great job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “fight” is completely choreographed, and the kids use the skills they learned in training. They swing left, right, duck, and then swing down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite things about the Jedi Training is that a Cast Member takes photos of the whole event, including group photos and pictures of each individual child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These photos go to your Memory Maker or you can buy the daily photos of your day at Hollywood Studios and Jedi Training for about $75. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was able to video the training and my daughter “fighting” Kylo Ren and I didn’t have to worry about taking photos (even though I also took several photos). The Cast Member was able to get closer to the action and took photos from different angles\/perspectives. She got so many pictures that I could not get from my spot in the crowd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the show, the kids learn that they should not use anger to fight the Dark Side. The learn to use “the force” to defeat evil. Using the force helps them send Darth Vader and Kylo Ren back into the temple, and the doors close behind them. The Jedi win! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the show, each child receives a pin for successfully finishing their training. It’s a nice little souvenir!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get Your Own Light Saber<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your child wants their very own lightsaber, they can create their own at Tatooine Traders (on the other side of Star Wars: Star Tours). My son loved building his own lightsaber. It lights up and makes “lightsaber swishing” noises. As of 02\/2019, a single lightsaber was about $35 and the double is about $50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
