The Driving Simulator<\/h3>\n

After the Traffic Test 101, the kids moved on to learning to drive with a simulator. This helped to give them a more realistic feel for driving before they moved on to practice driving in the Smart Cars.<\/p>\n

Driving<\/h3>\n

The kids first drove with an instructor. After he felt that they were comfortable with the car, he let them drive alone. I could ride with the kids after they received 25 driving safety points. They received safety points for following the rules of the road for a certain amount of time.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The kiddos learned how to use a blinker and a steering wheel. They also learned how to yield to other cars, merge, and follow speed limits. The roads are very realistic. They had road signs, traffic lights, one-way streets, two-way streets, and road markings.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

These Smart Cars are high-tech. They keep up with the kids driving times, violations, and speed increases. If a driver goes without violations, he\/she can go faster. The more violations they receive, the slower their Smart Car will go. There is a timer in the car that alerts the driver when their driving time is over and they need to return the car.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tiny Towne Police<\/h3>\n

Above: You gotta watch out for the Po-Po. My son ran a stop sign once and got pulled over. It was funny watching those blue lights chase him down. The “officer” was nice and let him off with a warning. If the kids continue to break the traffic laws they’re penalized with a slower speed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tiny & Booster Cars<\/h3>\n

The Tiny and Booster cars cost $5 (5 credits) for a 6-minute drive around a small track that is the shape of figure 8. They can make several laps, depending on their skill and speed.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Tiny Cars are for children ages 3-6. They learn about seat belts, how to steer a car using the steering wheel, and how to keep the car between the lines. There were many young kids using the Tiny Cars while we were there. They looked like they were having a wonderful time!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Kids ages 6-9 can drive the larger Booster Cars. They learn about seat belts, controlling the steering wheel, and staying on track. I <\/span>honestly<\/span><\/span> think my 9-year-old son would <\/span>be bored<\/span><\/span> on this track with the Booster car. These are <\/span>probably<\/span><\/span> better for younger kids.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Carcade<\/h3>\n

The Carcade is a fun spot inside Tiny Towne.<\/span> Arcade games cost about 1-2 credit each. My kids could have spent 8 billion dollars in here playing air hockey!<\/p>\n

The Train<\/h3>\n

This train runs every 30 minutes. It runs along a “track” on the edge of Tiny Towne. We rode the train once during our visit. Younger children seemed to enjoy it more than my older kids, but they still enjoyed it. Train rides cost 3 credits, but pass holders get free unlimited rides for an entire year.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Would we go back to Tiny Towne? Yes, <\/span>absolutely<\/span><\/span>! The kiddos had a blast and I was happy with all that they learned while they were there. It is a great place to spend a couple of hours as a family!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
