We had such a fun time while we were at Tiny Towne!

Located in Norcross (just a few minutes north of Atlanta), this place is set up more like school, but the kids had so much fun while they were learning.

We paid $40 for each child ($80 total) to get a pass holder card/driver’s licenses, unlimited train rides, and 40 minutes of driving a Smart Car. It did feel like a lot of money but for their first visit they:

I was very impressed with how much my kiddos learned while they were at Tiny Towne! I don’t think you can start too young or be too prepared when it comes to driving safety.

In order to be able to qualify to drive in Tiny Towne, kids must be at least 57″ tall and 9 years old. They have to pass the Traffic Test 101 and the Simulator Test. Both of these tests were monitored by the instructors and they offered help if the kids needed it.

We sat through a 12 1/2 minute video about all the different road signs. They learned that the shapes and colors of signs have special meanings. This video also showed what the symbols on the road signs meant as well.

The kids learned about yellow and white lines on the road and what those meant. They also learned the difference between straight lines and dotted lines on roadways.

After the Traffic Test 101, the kids moved on to learning to drive with a simulator. This helped to give them a more realistic feel for driving before they moved on to practice driving in the Smart Cars.

These Smart Cars are high-tech. They keep up with the kids driving times, violations, and speed increases. If a driver goes without violations, he/she can go faster. The more violations they receive, the slower their Smart Car will go. There is a timer in the car that alerts the driver when their driving time is over and they need to return the car.

Above: Heading into the tunnel with the instructor. There are two tunnels – one for cars and one for the train. Situated above the tunnel, there is a sitting area with chairs and tables for the parents.

Above: Learning how to use a turn signal, watching road markings, and how to merge with the instructor.

Above: Heading towards the tunnel. There is a seating area above the tunnel where parents can sit and watch their kids drive around. Both hands on the wheel, Son!

Above: You gotta watch out for the Po-Po. My son ran a stop sign once and got pulled over. It was funny watching those blue lights chase him down. The “officer” was nice and let him off with a warning. If the kids continue to break the traffic laws they’re penalized with a slower speed.

The Carcade is a fun spot inside Tiny Towne. Arcade games cost about 1-2 credit each. My kids could have spent 8 billion dollars in here playing air hockey!

There are some party rooms located next to the Carcade for those having a party at Tiny Towne. You can find more information on parties and invitations HERE.

Have you been to Tiny Towne? How was your experience?
