This park is about a 5-minute walk from the Arch and is FREE to enter. There are lots of open areas for children to run, walk, and play. In addition to waterfalls and splash pads, the garden also offers plenty of shady spots to sit and relax.

You can bring your own snacks and drinks to the park (which ends up being really convenient if the kiddos play in the water features). There are also other food options:

Citygarden has about two dozen contemporary sculptures exhibits. The kids loved that they could climb and play on the sculptures.

Above: This is a photo of the waterfall (with wading pool and stepping stones). Right behind the waterfall is Kaldi’s Coffee Roasters.

If you are visiting Citygarden in the summertime, the kids can play in the water features. There is waterfall wall and a small wading pool with large stepping stones. There is also a few splash pad-type areas.

We were a few weeks too early for playing in the water, but my kids wanted to play in the water so bad. I recommend bringing swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and/or a change of clothes if you are planning to play in the water.

I think you could spend as much or as little time as you would like at Citygarden. You could take a quick stroll through the gardens and sculptures or spend a few hours having a picnic and playing in the water. Either way, Citygarden is well worth a visit. It is a great attraction, and I love that it is FREE!

Citygarden // 801 Market Street – Saint Louis, MO 63101 // 314.241.3337

Citygarden Map HERE

Citygarden WEBSITE

Restaurants
