High Point Climbing and Fitness in Chattanooga, Tennessee

If you’re in Chattanooga and feel like the kids are climbing the walls, then you might want to take them to High Point. It is a gym and also a rock climbing facility. It is a great place to let the kids burn off some energy!

SO MANY Rock Climbing Walls

If this is your first time to High Point you must sign a waiver and they take you on a little tour and share the rules with you. You can actually print out the waiver at home and bring it with you to save some time at registration. The tour guide also explains how to use the harnesses and gives some pointers on basic climbing skills.

They also take this time to show you how to use the auto belays and bouldering stations if that is something you are interested in doing.

The facilities a very clean and the staff makes safety their utmost priority. The tour guide took the time to teach the kiddos the basics and safe use of equipment.

High Point provides the climbing shoes and harnesses for you to use while you are there. I highly recommend wearing comfortable clothing or sportswear.

The huge facilities at High Point take up an entire block on Broad Street. You can start with the less difficult climbs and try more difficult ones as you progress and become more comfortable with the climbing.

With a day pass, you can leave High Point and go to lunch and come back for more rock climbing.  If your family members are active climbers you could come and go all day.  You could climb in the morning, go to lunch, come back and climb some more, go to dinner – and even come back to climb after dinner if you want.

There are tables and snacks machines (with healthy snacks and drinks) located near the gym area.

Kid’s Zone

High Point also has a Kid Zone with fun climbing areas just for little ones ages 3 and older.  The Kid’s Zone has 15 more auto belays and a 10-foot tall kid’s boulder.

We spent a lot of time in this area. The kids loved climbing the “city buildings” and then swinging down from the top “building”. Apparently, this is popular with all of the kiddos because there was always a line. My kids loved pretending to be Spiderman jumping from building to building and “flying” down.

There is so much space dedicated to the kid’s climbing area. This area offers a nice variety of climbing walls for the kiddos.

I loved that the climbing walls were so colorful and creative. Where else could you climb elephant bones?

Exterior Climbing Walls (The Block)

There are also climbing walls on the exterior of the building. The kiddos gave some of these walls a try, but they were a little intimidating for them. We will have to build up our nerves and upper body strength and try again next time.

Everyone had a great time at High Point Climbing and Fitness while we were in Chattanooga! The kids can’t wait to go back!
